The DAB E.sybox is currently the most advanced system available when it comes to water pumps. Deployable in a wide range of situations, from indoor pressure boosting to supplying a car wash. Looking for an easy to use pump that requires no further customisation? The DAB E.sybox is the perfect solution!

The E.sybox is equipped with a frequency-controlled system, ensuring the pump will only run at the speed required to pump water from A to B at the right pressure. Fully automated and extremely silent. In addition to its energy-saving features, this also extends the lifespan of the pump.

This pump is highly suited for applications that require high water conlifting stationtion. For example, in your home (multiple taps, showers, baths, dishwashers, washing machines, toilets, etc.) but also in combination with larger irrigation systems. When using this pump, you can easily supply multiple groups at the right capacity and pressure.

The E.sybox is equipped with a water-cooled motor, which is fully resistant to corrosion. The motor can pump a maximum of 7,200 litres per hour, for which it uses the 2 l pressure vessel. This vessel has a 5-year warranty, without any applicable maintenance conditions. In addition, the E.sybox has a number of technical highlights, such as:

  • Electronic speed adjuster, guarantees a constant pressure
  • Start/stop function equipped inverter, for specific water pressures in certain situations.
  • Multi-stage, providing you with additional pressure when required
  • Different sensors, including: Electronic pressure difference sensor, built-in temperature sensor and a flow rate / capacity meter.

Whether you're planning on placing your DAB E.sybox horizontally or vertically, in a ventilated space or small space, the E.sybox can handle almost anything. The built-in check valve allow sfor both horizontal and vertical setups. Moreover, on average, the DAB E.sybox is 30% more compact compared to traditional pump setups. Also important to mention: the E.sybox includes a protection mechanism that prevents ice formation in the system. In situations below the freezing point, the pump will automatically switch on to keep warm.

In addition to the beautifully designed housing (winner of the Product Design Award 2013), this pressure-boosting system is equipped with a high-resolution LCD display (70x40 mm). In combination with the highly user-friendly interface, this makes the DAB E.sybox a joy to operate. In addition, the housing is also equipped with an anti-vibration foot, making the E.sybox even more silent and comfortable to use. Not to mention, this foot can either be placed horizontally or vertically.

Water tank

This pump is equipped with a tank. This can be useful in a number of situations. Particularly if the pump has to supply water occasionally (drip feed) A pump without a tank will pulse (switch on and off all the time) A pump with a tank can satisfy the demand for water from the tank, which means it doesn't have to start up every time. These pumps are great for, for instance, drip hoses for even irrigation or filling a toilet tank, which also happens slowly. A second advantage of a tank is that the so-called 'water hammer' is strongly reduced. Water hammer is the shock your pipes endure when a tap is opened fully and quickly. Pumps that produce high pressure straightaway can exacerbate water hammer. This pump's (built-in) tank prevents that.

Silent

This pump is labelled 'silent'. Naturally, a pump will produce noise like any other electrical device, but special attention was paid to the noise level. Thanks to its very low noise level, this pump can also be installed in a home without causing a nuisance. This is of course a subjective matter. However, pumps don't come any more silent than these ones.

Variable water supply

This pump has a variable speed control system. The variable speed control system is mostly useful for booster pumps to which multiple water taps are connected. If one tap is activated, the pump will power up to a low level. If you turn on multiple taps, the pump will increase its RPM as required. Pumps without a variable speed control system will pump at full power, regardless of the capacity required. These pumps can only be turned on or off, making them far less energy-efficient. The variable speed control system is therefore often seen in systems with variable water demand and frequent or long periods of use, such as water pressure boosting in your home. The DAB Easybox series, very suited to boosting your water pressure, always has a variable speed control system for this reason.

Protection against dry running of the pump

This pump is protected against dry running. Most pumps can't run dry for long or at all. This can result in the pump jamming and/or burning out immediately. This can happen when the well runs dry, and the pump is no longer able to suck in water. Irrigation pumps or booster pumps are particularly vulnerable to this. Some borehole pumps and more advanced irrigation pumps have standard built-in dry running protection. A pump that dies not comes standard with this, can easily be equipped with dry running protection, for instance, by adding a separate dry-run protection system or DAB Control-D. This ensures that your booster pump or irrigation pump will not run dry.

DAB

DAB is one of the most popular water pump brands for consumers as well as professionals. These pumps use very high quality standards. Before a pump is put on sale, each unit is tested manually by an employee. This is DAB's way of ensuring you get the highest possible quality. DAB has a solution for practically every situation. Whether it's an industrial application or just irrigating your garden. DAB's professional quality is also evident in their range of consumer products. The DAB pumps we replace for people are often over ten years old.

Switches on/off automatically

This pump switches on or off automatically when you turn on a tap somewhere that is connected to this pump. In many cases, it's very convenient if your pump switches on and off automatically. For instance, when you use it for irrigation with a hand nozzle. Or if you use rainwater to supply your toilet or washing machine. Certainly when you want to boost water pressure in your home too. Unlike a standard irrigation pump, a booster pump 'notices' when you turn on one or more taps, by registering a pressure difference. The pump will know it has to either start or stop. Standard booster pumps (installed on a tank) have a mechanical switch. More advanced booster pumps use an electronic switch. Both systems have their advantages and disadvantages. The mechanical switch is reliable but can't be (easily) adjusted. The electronic version can be adjusted but relies on electricity.

Reviews of the DAB Easybox Booster Pump

Quick and silent

Delivery was extremely fast and setting up the DAB easy was very convenient. Very satisfied with the result!!!

Easy

A great water pump for in the home. The device is also very silent compared to a standard booster pump. Installation is easy, especially if you've already got the connection pieces in place. Getting the device started was somewhat difficult, but this is normal when pumping water through the pump for the first time. The ability to adjust pressure is also ideal. There's always an adequate water supply :) Oh and the menu allows you to adjust the pressure on the fly. Whether the device is truly energy efficient? I'll have to wait a couple of years, but so far so good.

Setup

Pros + Extremely silent + Display + Fast delivery

Cons - Setup (After some assistance from a friend I was able to get the device working, but the setup procedure was definitely not quick and easy)

What a device

This pump was recommended to me by a colleague. Fully configurable, and the display shows the complete pump status (speed, litres, etc.). Immediately ready for use upon delivery, plug and play within an hour! Highly recommended.

Beautiful system

I've had the pleasure of installing this system a couple of times now. Despite the high price, a definite recommendation! The box is easy to set up and adjust. This definitely soothes the blow of that initial high price. Still waiting for some tests to find out more about the system's noise level.
Cheers,
Fred

What is the difference between a regular booster pump and the DAB E.sybox? The DAB E.sybox features state-of-the-art technology, which distinguishes it from other pumps. Regular booster pumps have a greater noise level (approx. 85 dB compared to < 45 dB) and are not frequency-controlled. The frequency adjuster is where this booster pump especially distinguishes itself from the rest. Not even to mention the pump capacity and pressure! What is the difference between the DAB Booster Silent and the DAB E.sybox? The DAB E.sybox mainly distinguishes itself thanks to the built-in frequency-controlled system, its large capacity and pressure and overall compactness. Both models have been tested in our blog post, which can be found here. What is a frequency-controlled system? A frequency-controlled system allows your pump to operate in accordance with your water needs. This means that the pump will generally operate at a low frequency. For example, if only one tap is opened, the pump will only run at the level required to sufficiently pressurise the tap. This ensures your pump runs very efficiently and has a longer life span. What can I use this pump for? You can use this pump for the following applications: ● Irrigation and sprinkling of your garden or lawn (even in combination with multiple groups) ● Cleaning your terrace, backyard deck or garden furniture ● (Rain)water supply of your washing machine, toilet, sink, shower, etc. ● Increasing water pressure ● Supplying a car wash and other larger water supply systems Is it okay to connect this pump to the existing water system in my home? Yes, this pump is suitable for connecting to your existing water system. Is your overall water pressure too low, or are you planning on expanding the number of supply points in your home? The DAB E.sybox offers the perfect solution! Should you wish to comply with the (Dutch) KIWA requirements, you may always opt for the DAB E.sybox KIWA. What type of water can I pump with this device? The DAB E.sybox can only pump clean water, which is to say: water without significant suspended solids (< 2 mm). This means you may also pump water from a canal or ditch, although under a number of conditions: ● We recommend using a suction hose with brass connection (improved filtration) ● We recommend using a pre-filter (additional filtering time before the water enters the pump) Moreover, the water should never be colder than 0°C and never be warmer than 35°C. Is this pump suitable for continuous use? Yes, this pump is ideal for continuous use. Is it recommended to use a pre-filter? If the water is approximately identical to drinking water, you will not have to use a pre-filter. However, if the water contains suspended solids (this is the case with water from a ditch or canal), we highly recommend using one. How should the pump be installed? The pump and connected system must always be protected against frost and other extreme weather conditions. Therefore always place the pump in a dry space, with an ambient temperature between 5 and 40 degrees, in which the motor can be cooled properly. In addition, all connected pipes must be fully water and air-tight to prevent damage and loss of performance. The water the pump has to drain is located at a depth of more than 9 metres, what's the solution? Irrigation and booster pumps can generally suck up water at a depth of 9 metres. If the depth is (sporadically) greater than 9 metres, you must use a borehole pump. A borehole pump is placed in the source and usually has a head rate of 50 metres or more. Please take a look at our selection of borehole pumps. What happens if there is no more water available from the source? This pump is water-cooled, which means the pump cools itself with the same water it pumps during operation. When there is no more water from the source (for example, if the water level in the source drops below 9 metres), the pump will continue to operate without water supply. This is also referred to as 'dry-running' and may cause the pump to overheat as a result (potentially causing significant damage). Do not forget that this pump is equipped with dry-running protection, preventing the pump from running dry. The DAB E.sybox automatically switches itself off once the water supply depletes. Is this pump suitable for a drinking water system? Yes, this pump is suitable for a drinking water system. Is the pump delivered ready for use? Yes, you can use this pump directly. However, the pump does not come with accessories such as a suction hose, filter and drain hose. If required, these accessories can be easily ordered from our webshop.Click here for an overview of all the DAB E.sybox accessories. What are the items that come in the packaging? ● DAB E.sybox with built-in water reservoir ● 4 anti-vibration feet ● Cable connection ● Manual
