Grundfos
Grundfos is one of the largest pump manufacturers in the world. They have managed to obtain a substantial share in the industrial market, and have achieved this by supplying the highest quality products over a period of several decades. As a result, Grundfos pumps are currently used in many installations and situations. Not surprisingly, your central heating system may also be fitted with a Grundfos circulation pump. Grundfos was originally a Danish company but it is now represented in many countries all over the world. In addition to manufacturing central heating pumps and targeting the industrial market, Grundfos also sells several garden and booster pumps, and has a line of very robust, high-quality submersible pumps.
Carrying handle / footrest
The pump is equipped with a carrying handle and a stand, which makes it ideal for garden irrigation. The handle makes it easy to move the pump, and it can be placed in a stable position in various places in the garden or allotment. Standard pumps are usually installed in a permanent place and are therefore equipped with small 'legs' to stand on. The extra handle and stand provide greater flexibility and make installation less dependent on location.
Stainless steel / Inox
In some situations, stainless steel, which is also called Inox steel, can be very handy, and is prescribed in particular with regard to drinking water. Drinking water must remain pure and may not contain corrosive elements, which is the reason that stainless steel is used. Furthermore, a stainless steel pump is also resistant to lime, which tends to stick to surfaces, but is not able to do so with smooth, stainless steel surfaces. Cast iron is usually the counterpart of stainless steel, but these pumps are prone to corroding and are therefore used mainly for irrigation. A final advantage of stainless steel is that it is lighter than cast iron and is therefore easier to move.
