A flooded cellar may have adverse consequences, such as fungi and unpleasant odours. With a puddle pump, you can drain your cellar quickly and easily.

Ready to use

The kits are supplied practically ready to use. All you need to do is connect the discharge hose to the pump. Next, place the pump at the lowest point in the space, where the water is deepest. To avoid a fire risk, please check carefully to make sure the water has not come into contact with any electric appliances. Insert the plug into the socket in a safe area, and then you can get started.

Puddle pump with or without a float

When selecting the appropriate pump to drain a space, you first need to determine whether the device should switch on and off automatically. This is recommended if flooding is a recurring problem. A submersible pump with a float switches on automatically when the water level has risen and stops pumping as soon as the desired level has been reached.

Running dry

A submersible pump without a float starts when its plug is inserted into the wall socket, and stops when the plug is removed. Ensure that the pump does not continue pumping if there is no more water. If it continues pumping when no water is available to cool the device, it will become overheated. In other words, it will run dry.

Puddle pump

With a puddle pump, you can quickly and easily drain your cellar. These pumps are capable of draining surfaces dry to a height of just a few millimetres, leaving the space mop dry.

Operating a submersible pump

For a puddle pump to operate, it is important that its bottom part (where the impeller is situated) is fully immersed. This means that the surface on which the pump is placed should be completely level and have no uneven patches. If the bottom is not level, we recommend putting a plastic plate sheet under the pump.

Always install the pump at the deepest point, from where the water goes directly into the pump and is then drained through a discharge hose or tube. A difference in height between where the pump is located and where the water needs to be discharged is not a problem. Submersible pumps are capable of lifting water to a height of several metres. When you buy a pump, always check its delivery head.

Tip: The excess water can be collected and used later to water your plants.
