Production description

This booster pump supplies you with water whenever needed. As soon as you open a supply point, the pump will automatically switch on and pump water from a source. Moreover, this set can also be used in situations where a specific water pressure must be realised. The pump will automatically switch on to ensure the best results. In addition, the pump is equipped with built-in dry-running protection. Should the water in your pump be depleted, the pump will automatically switch off.

The device is also equipped with a built-in check valve and pre-filter. The pre-filter prevents suspended solids from entering the pump housing and damaging your pump. This pre-filter can be easily opened and cleaned using the included multi-tool.

The digital interface on the side of the pump allows you to freely configure the cut-in and cut-out pressure. By default, the pump is set to factory settings, for use in the most common situations. The interface displays (by means of the LEDs) the pump's current pressure.

  • Provides sufficient pressure and capacity for an average of 1 or 2 sprinklers
  • The hose used for this pump has a delivery diameter of 1" and suction diameter of of 1"
  • Sucks up water from a maximum depth of 8 m.
  • The maximum head rate is 43 m, which is equal to an output of 4.3 bar

Tallas

Tallas is a brand that has been around for many years and has always focused on the consumer market. Tallas has some particularly handy solutions for garden irrigation and using ditch water or rainwater. Tallas is part of DAB, and its pumps are built according to the same quality standards. They often use lighter materials, which results in a small difference in quality. Tallas's strength is their easy solutions they put on their pumps. This makes them ideal for many consumers. One example is a built-in pre-filter that protects the pump from dirt. Their irrigation pumps are also light and have a handle and base. This makes them easy to move and use for small irrigation jobs.

Complete and ready-to-use set

We offer a set for many of our pumps. This way, we want to help you get started as quickly and efficiently as possible. If you're looking for a replacement pump for an existing system, you can always order the pump separately. We offer that at a lower price (below the set). The set is composed of accessories to get the most out of your product. We also try to extend the lifespan of your pump with these accessories, letting you enjoy your purchase as long as possible.

Water filter

Many irrigation pumps and booster pumps include a separate water filter of have one already built in. In many cases, water is sucked in from a ditch, canal, or local source. No matter how clean this water may look, it can always contain dirt. Irrigation pumps/booster pumps are not very resistant against dirt, which can clog the impeller. By using a water filter, you can prevent the sucked in dirt from reaching the pump.

Protection against dry running of the pump

This pump is protected against dry running. Most pumps can't run dry for long or at all. This can result in the pump jamming and/or burning out immediately. This can happen when the well runs dry, and the pump is no longer able to suck in water. Irrigation pumps or booster pumps are particularly vulnerable to this. Some borehole pumps and more advanced irrigation pumps have standard built-in dry running protection. A pump that dies not comes standard with this, can easily be equipped with dry running protection, for instance, by adding a separate dry-run protection system or DAB Control-D. This ensures that your booster pump or irrigation pump will not run dry.

Switches on/off automatically

This pump switches on or off automatically when you turn on a tap somewhere that is connected to this pump. In many cases, it's very convenient if your pump switches on and off automatically. For instance, when you use it for irrigation with a hand nozzle. Or if you use rainwater to supply your toilet or washing machine. Certainly when you want to boost water pressure in your home too. Unlike a standard irrigation pump, a booster pump 'notices' when you turn on one or more taps, by registering a pressure difference. The pump will know it has to either start or stop. Standard booster pumps (installed on a tank) have a mechanical switch. More advanced booster pumps use an electronic switch. Both systems have their advantages and disadvantages. The mechanical switch is reliable but can't be (easily) adjusted. The electronic version can be adjusted but relies on electricity.

Affordable booster pump that does what it says it does. I'm also very happy with the relatively low noise level.

Frequently Asked Questions ● What is the benefit of a booster pump compared to an irrigation pump? ● What can I use this pump for? ● Is it okay to connect this pump to the existing water system in my home? ● What type of water can I pump with this device? ● Is this pump suitable for continuous use? ● Is it recommended to use a pre-filter? ● How should the pump be installed? ● The water the pump has to drain is located at a depth of more than 9 metres, what's the solution? ● What happens if there is no more water available from the source? ● Is this pump suitable for a drinking water system? ● Is the pump delivered ready for use? ● What are the items that come in the packaging? What is the benefit of a booster pump compared to an irrigation pump? Generally speaking, a booster pump is an irrigation pump with several additional components, such as: ● An built-in pressure switch, which automatically turns the pump on or off depending on the water requirements. ● A pressure vessel (water reservoir), which provides you with immediate access to water and ensures the pump only has to turn on if the water in the pressure vessel starts depleting. In other words, in case of small water conlifting stationtion (several litres), a booster pump does not have to operate. When consuming water, the water in the pressure vessel is first used. If the water level in the pressure vessel starts depleting, the pump will automatically switch on in order to supply the vessel. In addition to energy savings, this guarantees a much more silent system and a continuous water supply. What can I use this pump for? You can use this pump for the following applications: ● Irrigation and sprinkling of your garden or lawn ● Cleaning your terrace, backyard deck or garden furniture ● (Rain)water supply of your washing machine, toilet, sink, shower, etc. ● Pressure-boosting your water supply Is it okay to connect this pump to the existing water supply system in my home? Yes, this pump can easily be connected to your existing water supply. What type of water can I pump with this device? The Tallas D-EBOOST 850 can only pump clean water, which is to say: water without significant suspended solids (< 2 mm). This means you may also pump water from a canal or ditch, although under a number of conditions: ● We recommend using a suction hose with brass connection (improved filtration) ● We recommend using a pre-filter (additional filtering time before the water enters the pump) Moreover, the water should never be warmer than 35°C. Is this pump suitable for continuous use? Yes, this pump is ideal for continuous use. Is it recommended to use a pre-filter? If the water is approximately identical to drinking water, you will not have to use a pre-filter. However, if the water contains suspended solids (this is the case with water from a ditch or canal), we highly recommend using one. How should the pump be installed? The pump and connected system must always be protected against frost and other extreme weather conditions. Therefore always place the pump in a dry space, with an ambient temperature between 5 and 40 degrees, in which the motor can be cooled properly. In addition, all connected pipes must be fully water and air-tight to prevent damage and loss of performance. The water the pump has to drain is located at a depth of more than 9 metres, what's the solution? Irrigation and booster pumps can generally suck up water at a depth of 9 metres. If the depth is (sporadically) greater than 9 metres, you must use a borehole pump. A borehole pump is placed in the source and usually has a head rate of 50 metres or more. Please take a look at our selection of borehole pumps. What happens if there is no more water available from the source? This pump is water-cooled, which means the pump cools itself with the same water it pumps during operation. When there is no more water from the source (for example, if the water level in the source drops below 9 metres), the pump will continue to operate without water supply. This is also referred to as 'dry-running' and may cause the pump to overheat as a result (potentially causing significant damage). Do not forget that this pump is equipped with dry-running protection, preventing the pump from running dry. The DAB Booster Silent 3M automatically switches itself off once the water supply depletes. Is this pump suitable for a drinking water system? Yes, this pump is suitable for a drinking water system. Is the pump delivered ready for use? Yes, you can use this pump directly. However, the pump does not come with accessories such as a suction hose, filter and drain hose. If required, these accessories can be easily ordered from our webshop.Click here for an overview of all the Tallas D-EBOOST 850 accessories.
