Set the pump with easy-to-use float switch in manual mode to drain your room dry.
Pros and cons
  • Internal float switch
  • Very high quality
  • Top outlet port

The DAB Verty Nova 200 M-A submersible puddle pump is of a very compact design. Because of its small size, this submersible pump is, for example, perfect for draining small spaces and sump pits. The minimum space should be 23 x 23 cm. The delivery port  is situated at the top, making it easy to work in tight spaces.

This puddle pump has a built-in, space-saving float that can be activated with a switch. In this way, the pump can be operated both manually and automatically, and used for draining as well as for pumping fluids. Installation, maintenance, and cleaning are very easy. The pump is fitted with a 10m cable, a non-return valve, and rubber sealing. The minimum suction depth is only 3-4 mm.

Water level

This pump is fitted with a float switch, which means that it switches on/off automatically based on the water level.

  • Switches on automatically at a water level of 11.5 cm
  • Switches off automatically at a water level of 4.5 cm
  • In manual mode (fastening/raising the float), this pump drains water to a level of 2 mm.

If you are looking for a pump that leaves less water/switches on automatically sooner (at 8.5 cm), you can opt for the DAB Nova Up 300 M-AE. No pumps are available that switch on automatically before reaching a level of 8.5 cm, because no float switches are reliable enough to operate automatically at these low water levels.

Summary

  • Supplied with a non-return valve and a hose socket
  • The pump has a 1.25" outlet, to which the hose we supply can be connected directly
  • The pump's maximum submersion depth is 7 metres
  • A maximum delivery head of 7 metres
  • Fitted with a float switch which allows for easy switching between manual and automatic mode

Mop-dry surfaces (puddle pump)

This pump is capable of draining flat surfaces, but not every submersible pump is a puddle pump. If you are dealing with flooding and want to drain a space 'dry', you will need a puddle pump. Some models can even drain water to a level of 0 to 1 mm. This type of pump is often used for cellars, crawl spaces, or basements, and may be a perfect solution if groundwater rises and floods your house or garden. There are two ways to use a puddle pump. If it is fitted with a float, the pump will be able to drain to a level of about 4 cm. However, only in manual mode is the puddle pump able to 'drain dry', which means you need to switch the pump off yourself when it no longer processes water. This is important because the pump cools itself with the water it pumps. Therefore, to avoid the pump becoming damaged, it must be set to manual mode to drain surfaces 'dry'.

DAB

DAB is one of the best-selling brands of water pumps for consumers as well as for professionals. These pumps adhere to a very high standard of quality, with each pump being tested manually by a staff member before it is put on the market. This is the only way DAB can guarantee that you obtain the absolute best. They have a solution regarding almost any situation, whether it involves an industrial application or simply spraying a garden. DAB's professional quality is also reflected in its consumer line. The DAB pumps we replace for people are usually over ten years old.

Float for automatic activation / deactivation

This submersible pump is fitted with a float, which ensures that the pump is switched on and off automatically. Each pump has its own variables relating to the level at which the pump switches on or off. Robust wastewater pumps usually have a high level of activation and deactivation. They will start operating relatively late and stop relatively soon, unlike puddle pumps, which switch on sooner and switch off later. Check the pump's specifications for these variables. There are three types of floats: a floating one, which is attached to a cable; a float arm; and an integrated float. The first type needs more space because it may float in any direction, while the float arm needs less space, as it only moves up and down, and generally has higher operational reliability. Finally, there is the internal float, which is integrated in the pump and therefore needs the least space. We see these internal floats mainly in puddle pumps, because they need to operate in small spaces.

Frequently asked questions

How does a float work and what can I do with it?
A float ensures that your pump switches on and off automatically at a certain water level.
This is very practical if you want to use the pump in frequently flooded spaces, because with a float the pump does not need to be switched on and off each time the space is flooded.
This pump is also fitted with a float switch, which means that it can be used in manual or in automatic mode.

At what water level does the pump switch on/off automatically when the float is used?
This submersible pump switches on automatically at a water level of 115 mm and off at a water level of 45 mm.
To ensure that the entire space does not maintain a water level of 45 mm after the pump automatically switches off, the device is often placed in a sump pit.
This ensures that the pump is situated lower in the space, so that the device continues pumping until a water level of 45 mm has been reached in the sump pit.
In this way, the rest of the space is pumped practically dry, with only a very small amount of water left in the pit.

In what situations can I use this pump?
This pump is suitable in the following situations:

  • for pumping dry or draining a cellar and/or crawl space
  • in a permanent setup, for example, to automatically drain a cellar/crawl space once the water level has been reached
  • for pumping dry or draining a basin
  • for pumping dry or draining a swimming pool

What is the difference between the DAB Nova Up 180 M-NA and the DAB Verty Nova 200 M-A?

  • Of all three submersible puddle pumps, the DAB Nova Up 180 M-NA works closest to the surface. This submersible pump leaves no more than 0-1 mm of water. It is handy for occasional use, anywhere around the house.
  • The DAB Verty Nova 200 M-A is able to switch on/off automatically at a certain water level and is handy to use in frequently flooded cellars/crawl spaces, for example. This pump leaves no more than 2-3 mm of water.

Can this pump be set up in small spaces?
This pump requires a space with a minimum diameter of 23 centimetres and can therefore be set up practically anywhere.

Is the pump supplied ready for use?
Yes, this pump is supplied with every component needed for immediate use.
You only need to attach a discharge hose to transport the drained water to a particular location.
The hose in our product range is suitable for this pump.
