The Grundfos Unilift KP submersible pump is beautiful and impressive to behold. This very lightweight single-stage pump can pump both clean and slightly dirty water. Thanks to the stainless-steel casing, this submersible pump is very robust, solid, and maintenance-friendly. The casing is made of one piece. You can place it in temporary and permanent, free-standing systems. It is also suitable for installation in collection tanks. It has a semi-open impeller that can pump particle sizes with a diameter of up to 10mm. This makes it ideally suited for pump jobs in and around your house.

It also has an automatic overload protection that switches off the motor if an overload is imminent. Once the motor has cooled to the right temperature, it will start back up automatically.

    Models
When it comes to capacity and head, you can choose from the Grundfos Unilift KP 150, Grundfos Unilift KP 250, and the Grundfos Unilift KP 350:
    - Grundfos Unilift KP 150 (8,000 litres per hour / 5.5-metre head)
    - Grundfos Unilift KP 250 (11,000 litres per hour / 7.5-metre head)
    - Grundfos Unilift KP 350 (14,000 litres per hour / 9-metre head)

In addition, the Unilift KP series has different versions:
    - M - No float switch (switches on when you plug it in, switches off when you unplug it)
    - A1 - With float switch (switches on and off automatically based on the water level)
    - AV1 - With vertical float switch (switches on and off based on a low water level)

    Applications
This Grundfos submersible pump has a wide range of applications for different pump jobs in and around your house and business:
    - Water and rainwater in horticulture
    - Water from rivers and lakes
    - Rain water, drain water, and flood water
    - Water for filling/emptying containers, ponds, tanks, etc.
    - Waste water from showers, washing machines, and sinks below sewer level
    - Swimming pool water
    - Drain water from a ditch
    - Groundwater (reduction)
    - Effluent from homes from septic and treatment systems
    - Effluent from flyovers, tunnels, etc.
    - Drain water from garage sprinkler systems.

This pump does not have a float switch, which means it does not automatically switch on and off based on the water level.
Are you looking for a pump that starts automatically? In that case, you should opt for a submersible pump with float switch, such as the DAB Nova 300 M-A.

    Stainless steel/Inox

Stainless steel – also called Inox – can be very handy in some cases. Stainless steel is particularly recommended in drinking water applications. Drinking water has to remain uncontaminated and cannot contain corrosion. For this reason, stainless steel is used. Stainless-steel pumps are also resistant against limescale. Limescale has a tendency to build up, which is impossible on smooth, stainless-steel surfaces. The alternative to stainless steel is usually cast iron. These pumps can corrode. This is why these pump types are often used for irrigation. A final advantage of stainless steel is that it does not weight as much as cast iron and is therefore easier to move.

    Grundfos

Grundfos is one of the largest pump manufacturers in the world. They have a big piece of the industrial market, and for good reason. For decades, they have delivered the best possible quality. It is for this reason that many systems and situations these days use Grundfos pumps. Do not be surprised if you see your central heating system is equipped with a Grundfos circulation pump. Grundfos was originally a Danish company that has now expanded to many countries around the world and gained a considerable market share. In addition to central heating pumps and industrial products, Grundfos also sells a number of irrigation/booster pumps and they have a range of very robust and high-quality submersible pumps.

Float switch for switching on/off automatically

This submersible pump has a float switch. This float switch ensures the submersible pump switches on and off automatically. Each pump has its own variables when it comes to when it will switch on or off. Heavy-duty dirty water pumps often have a high level for starting and stopping. They will switch on relatively late and switch off relatively late. Unlike submersible utility pumps, which start sooner and stop later. Check the pump specifications for these variables.
There are three types of float switches A free-floating float switch attached to a cable, a lever float switch, and an internal float switch. The free-floating float switch needs room, as it can move in all directions. The lever float switch needs less space, as it only moves up and down. This makes it more reliable in general. Finally, there is the internal float switch. It has been built into the pump and requires the least amount of space. These internal float switches are often used on submersible utility pumps that have to operate in small spaces.
